Josh Vogeler is an upbeat folk songwriter based in Fort Collins, Colorado, inspired by the wisdom of nature and adventurous life experiences.  His vocal style incorporates heart centered melodies and colorful spoken word narrations.  Though formally trained as a drummer, he’s developed a percussive finger-style of playing on a 10-string acoustic guitar.  With influences in bluegrass, hip-hop, jazz, rock and reggae, Josh’s diverse style has a distinct uplifting rhythmic signature.  Exploring the wild sides of life, and shining light into dark places, Josh’s musical mission is to strengthen community and heal our human relationships with nature.

Josh grew up in Missouri where he studied Wildlife Biology, and played in a wide variety of bands through High School and College, ranging from punk and funk to formal orchestral music and marching band.  He moved to Denver in 2002, playing drums in a jam rock band while pursuing a spiritual attraction to the Rocky Mountains.  He’s been making music around Colorado ever since.  He has been the drummer and songwriter for folk/rock band, The Holler! from 2008-2012 and 2017 to present, recording Road To Gemini (2009) and Gratitude (2011).  Currently Josh is the drummer for House With A Yard, and guitar/vocals with Old Tree Circle.  As a songwriter, he won 1st place at the 2015 UllrGrass Festival Troubadour competition in Golden, CO.  Since 2015 he’s been hosting a monthly songwriter series at High Hops Brewery in Windsor, building a strong network of Colorado songwriters.  In January 2017 he released his first full length solo album, Naturenaut, recorded at Stout Studios in Fort Collins.
